I like it! A bit minimalist compared to what I had in mind but still well adapted as a house theme. The pluck here still has a calm vibe and the piano part was perfect, the chord progression was much better than mine.
I don't sidechain pluck synths too much but when I need to, I make a deep but very quick sidechain curve so it doesn't kill all the sound. I don't know if this is a good tip, I'm doubting my skills xd

SpeedoRH responds:

So happy you enjoyed the minimalistic approach to this remix! I have been working a lot on simplifying my production and just making everything easier rather than more complex.

As for the sidechain tip, I do usually do a short sidechain for plucked synths too, but that's because my sidechaining in general is pretty light xD

Anyway, thx for taking the time to listen and review the remix. It's really appreciated!

Lyrics are really nice. But the beat kicked in very soft (maybe it was intended, I just like energic music) needs something more than a chord progression, like the arpeggio you added later or SFX at transitions, cause the problem is that right at the end it gets more interesting. But seriously your singing is on the top!

Good luck, cause the K.O. Round results are out in a few minutes and I'm not prepared! Saludos colega!

kiiri responds:

the elements come in progressively because the "drop" is meant to be more of a progression toward the actual drop (at 2:24)

thank you for the compliment, the secret is a bit of autotune and a bit of vocoder for added depth

i'm not prepared either if i'm honest but i've got the feeling i'm not getting through to the finals. oh well, good luck to you!

That's an impressive clear mix, in contrast with the filthy stuff I do XD You're good adapting the main melody through the arrangement, and it keeps me very entertained with the bells, arps and stuff going on. It also has a nostalgic touch!

Glad you made a comeback! :D

SpeedoRH responds:

Hey, Ryzmik! It's been a while.

I am really happy that you enjoyed my song, since this is my first complete project since my break ended and normally I think that if I take breaks for too long, I get rusty. Your review gave me a sigh of relief on that!

I especially focused on the ambience on this one, given I was going for a "galactic" style (as you probably noticed already xD) and since galaxies are big and ominous, I thought reverb + bells and arp with high-pass would have been great at reflecting that feel. Glad you liked that touch!

Happy to see you again too! :D

P.s. My song has an uncompressed version on Soundcloud which sounds somewhat better (it's in WAV format, and if it wasn't for the fact Newgrounds doesn't support it, I would have used it here too xD)

This is my favourite dubstep: wobbles, growls and a banger drop, had me very hooked in, but some growls have a lot of reverb. Definetly love that squeaky dubstep lead.
The melody at the start is a little detuned but I really like it when it is accompained with a wobble bass.
Althought the structure is not very special from other dubstep songs, it was kinda interesting.
Good luck with the Knock-out round! :D
One last thing: Bruh, that "Thank you for trying this demo" at 1:14 lol

Linearity responds:

IDK what the hell that is, Probs my cracked version of Sylenth

That was good, the intro had me focused on the music but needs an EQ, don't know if the mids are loud or the highs are quiet. And I have to agree with your rival, it needs some growls, at least that 'yah' thing to fill the silence parts at the drop... or at least reverse reverb if your idea was to make every beat to sound hard after silence... Well it was a test, you don't need to take seriously what I said, but it's just a tip.
Btw did you won?

OVERSCORE responds:

Well, this was my first time doing dubstep, and Snipeshot isn’t really my rival, he just makes a lot of dubstep and told me to try to make some.

Plus, I’m a slave to reverb

Incredible song, and omg those bass growls, you could have a few more! Nah just kidding :P
All the chords, bass and lead makes the drops really huge, but sincerely, I didn't find the first half of the drops really interesting, as it's the same melody played at the breaks so I kind of see it coming, but it sounds hard not gonna lie. The very only thing you could fix at the drop is the snare, feels a little dark at the drop, maybe it's hard to make it clear with all the bright chords sounding (it happened to me).

T3M8CH responds:

Thanks for such a detailed review :)

Great dancecore tune!

Catchy melody, buzzy bass, bassy drums and good lead sound design. Enough to make a bop! This feels just like the classic 2000's techno music videos you find everywhere on YouTube with the default moviemaker intro and anime girl background lol
On the other hand, everything sounds very dry. Only the lead feels like having a room reverb. Even though it still sounds dynamic without effects, thing that I couldn't achieve doing dance/hands up ever in my life lol. The square synth at the end is a little off sync in the first notes.

Btw Labels aren't really a great thing, won't make much difference if you get into a label to distribute your music. But if you want to be chosen by one you need a lot more than this, but I'm sure you will get into a label with time and perseverance.

Eeyanzai responds:

Greetz! Thanks for response!

Definitly you're getting better with every track you post. Love the boomy kick, and how you mix the leads' upbeat melody and that last chorus was totally crazy. Really got me 2000's dance music feel. As always, keep it up with good pace :D

I honestly have listened to this like 5 times and still don't get tired! All the mix sounds very good to me, the trance bass fit wells among the reese bass, thing that I find really hard when playing two basses and mixing them.
The little piano in the last verse could be a little more loud, it's sounds kind of like very wet in reverb. Apart from that, the chord progression and lead synths really hooked me in. Great to see you in the frontpage again :D

SpeedoRH responds:

Thx a ton for the lovely review man! I do agree my song has a few stuff that can be fixed, but apart from that I really really REALLY appreciate the compliments.

Very chill, until the boost came, it was kinda random. Sorry if I'm not into experimental stuff but if that distorted sound appeared in a Dubstep or Drum&Bass song, you have a good sound design with distortion though. While the rest, adding ambient pads or SFX would be fitting well along with the 'urban background ambient'.

Those who fully rely on artificial intelligence for work can't get rid of their natural ignorance.
